Snipping Tool has no scrolling capture — what to use instead
Use Snipping Tool for a visible region, window or screen. For a long webpage, try the browser’s full-page capture or print-to-PDF. For a scrolling desktop application, use ordered overlapping screenshots or a suitable third-party tool, then check the output. A full-page browser command does not capture every desktop window or nested panel.

Built-in first
Keep Snipping Tool for the work it does well.
For an error message, dialog or visible interface state, Windows+Shift+S is often all you need. Choose the capture area and inspect the saved image. A collection of labelled visible-screen captures can be clearer than one extremely long image.
Microsoft’s documented screenshot modes cover visible selections rather than a general scrolling-window stitcher. Features vary across Windows installations, so inspect the tool you have instead of following a menu path that is not present.

Try the browser before adding another tool.

Prepare the page
Expand required sections and let content load. Keep the intended zoom and width. Note whether you are signed in and whether any inner panel scrolls separately.

Use full-page capture
In Edge DevTools, open Device Emulation, set the intended viewport, then use More options > Capture a full size screenshot. Device emulation can change the page layout, so confirm the view before saving.

Compare a PDF
Open the browser’s Print command and choose Save as PDF or an available PDF printer. Review every preview page. Print styles may hide controls or change layout, so choose this only when that output fits your purpose.

Check the bottom and joins
Verify first and last content, fixed headers, images and inner scrolling regions. A tall file is not proof that everything loaded.
Outside the browser
Choose a method that matches the application.
A browser capture command cannot capture File Explorer or another desktop application. Third-party scrolling tools generally have their own supported targets and limits. Test them on non-sensitive content before relying on them for a workplace record.
If a tool skips rows or cannot locate the right scrolling area, save overlapping visible sections instead. A source export may be better for complete table data. Keep annotations and presentation copies separate from originals when provenance matters.
Do not bypass access controls or protected content to obtain a capture. Use an authorised export or ask the content owner for an appropriate record.

Choose a method that fits the job.
Snipping Tool, browser capture and PDF printing each solve a different problem. Bundlepix is another option for screenshot review and document export, but no tool should be assumed to capture every application or hidden region correctly.
